Thoughts on Moses

"Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth" Numbers 12:3.

Have you considered that Moses wrote this statement? We might consider such a statement about ourselves to be something other than humble! We would likely consider it arrogance! Although Moses was one of the greatest leaders of all time, he did not start that way. He started out as a "basket case"! His first attempt at leading resulted in the death of an Egyptian, then 40 years of exile. Those forty years were so insignificant in his eyes that he summarized the time into three verses of scripture - Exodus 2:21-23.

The moral of the story? Don't despise your time of obscurity: God might be forming you into a great leader - in spite of yourself! Be thankful that you know Him and that He has forgotten your past and has your future in mind.

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope" Jeremiah 29:11.
